GOLGO 13 - Queen Bee (OVA) (1998) - killcount
Let's finish off Golgo-month with this 1998-OVA. The sequel to the classic '83 masterpiece "The Professional" takes badass motherfucker Golgo 13 (and therefore us) into US politics and their war on drugs. Assigned with assassinating a sassy guerrilla chick dubbed "The Queen Bee", Golgo gets entangled in a really, really, really confusing plot. And solves it by shooting everyone.
This is one heck of a speedline-obsessing, tits-showing, blood-spilling batshit crazy OVA, and even though it's clearly produced in the late 90s it harks back to oldschool 80s-OVAs in terms of unapologetic violence and gratituous sex. Still - despite director Osamu Dezaki giving this one a bit more room for Japanese insanity and sillyness rather than Noir-elements that made the first one very accessible for non-anime viewers - this is a damn good OVA and solid 50 minutes of great entertainment.
Sorry for the framerate dropping every now and then, something went wrong with ripping the DVD or something...
Golgo month might continue as soon as the DVDs for the TV series are out.
