Today we talk about success! Amazfit Bip Lite was a winner! The Mi Band 5 is a new release from Xiaomi and is sure to be a success! We are putting them Head To Head to find which one is best!

The mi Band 5 impressed us in the initial impressions review so we thought we’ll put it against the Bip Lite to see if it can handle the competition form a sibling. Why sibling? Well technically Amazfit is Huami’s brand.. and Huami is the wearables manufacturing partner of Xiaomi.. In essence both Bip Lite and Mi Band 5 are owned by the same tech giant aka Xiaomi!
We are looking at the global versions and hence NFC and SpO2 are not available on the Mi Band 5.

The Bip Lite is technically a hybrid between a sporty smartwatch and a fitness tracker.. it was an offshoot from the Amazfit Bip which actually houses inbuilt GPS and posed itself as a simple yet capable smartwatch. The Bip Lite’s watch case is squarish and in line with other Amazfit designs like the Bip and GTS. Dimensions of the watch case are 39.4 x 34.1mm.

You will also notice that it’s relatively thin at just under 1cm or 9.5mm.
While the Mi Band 5 follows its roots and the design stays mostly unchanged from its previous model the Mi Band 4. It looks like so many other fitness bands out there.. a small pellet looking plastic watch case that is still removable from the silicone strap. Although now, in 2020, the mi Band 5 is reoved only for the purpose of changing straps, the charging mechanism was updated to a magnetic charging pin that can be attached to the watch back without actually popping the case out.

Dimensions are 46.95 x 18.15mm but the case is significantly thicker than the Bip Lite at 12.5mm. Both devices are very light, with the straps, the Bip lite weighs 31g and the Mi Band 5 just over 22g.
