Sony Fx6: A Chinese American Filmmaker's Journey to China
Growing up as a Chinese American in the inner city, I never felt Chinese enough — or American enough. My dad used to call me “ABC” (American Born Chinese), but truth is, I always felt stuck in between cultures. So I decided to go to China… to reconnect with my roots and tell a story I’ve always wanted to tell.
This is more than a travel vlog. This is a personal journey through China — captured on the Sony FX6, my first time using this cinema camera. From the Great Wall to Zhangjiajie, Beijing to Shanghai, we explored history, identity, and culture through a filmmaking lens. We visited filming locations from Curse of the Golden Flower, stepped into ancient cities like Phoenix and Wulong, and ate more noodles than I care to admit 😂
I brought my camera and my curiosity — and I left with something I didn’t expect: a deeper pride in who I am, and where I come from.
