Sometimes called ‘Task-Based Learning’, TBLT lessons solve a task that involves an authentic use of language, rather than completing simple language questions about grammar or vocabulary.

Task-Based Language Teaching is a good way to get students engaged and using English. That, plus the collaborative element, builds confidence with language and social situations. It’s also been shown to be more aligned with how we actually learn a language.

In this session, David Weller will:

Outline the advantages and disadvantages of Task-Based Language Teaching.
Provide a simple model for you to follow
Walkthrough a complete example TBLT lesson plan outline.
Offer insights from his years of observing teachers for Trinity Cert and Dip TESOL qualifications.
