Before you come at me in the comments, the A7IV is overall objectively a WORSE tool for filmmaking than the FX3 in MOST situations…but this is why I prefer it for MY specific needs.
Other than what’s mentioned in this video (4k apsc mode & oversampled 4k), I also like the EVF when shooting in sunny conditions, though I didn’t mention it because the A7Siii has the same sensor as the FX3, but does offer an EVF.
When shooting weddings especially, I can’t tell you how much apsc mode comes in handy in order to get some extra reach. This is MUCH more ideal than cropping in post, because it allows me to retain 4k output.
My main gripe with the A7IV is the overheating. I know for some it’s not an issue, but when shooting outdoors and for extended periods of time, my A7IV is bound to overheat. Sony, please fix this on the A7V OR GIVE US THE OPTION FOR A NATIVE FAN ATTACHMENT.
