Transcript: What is goody gang, so today I am going to be talking about the standard banners with an update to them and when we could be getting new standard characters. So with everyone talking about the standard banner changing over the last few days I wanted to go and dive into it to see if it is actually expanding soon or not. Well to first talk about the idea of standard banner increases with new regions, we would have to take a look at Inazuma. In case you didn’t know we didn’t get any standard banner additions during the Inazuma region, but we did during the Sumeru region. So this can create confusion as to whether or not they will add a new standard character in Fontaine. However the thing with Inazuma is that it’s AR locked so players can not go to that island before a certain level. So if they do get a standard banner character and it was from Inazuma they would not be able to farm the materials for it. I think this is the best explanation for them not having a standard addition in Inazuma, which is also why I think we could see a standard addition in Fontaine. Assuming Fontaine isn’t AR locked it’s definitely possible considering the pattern in Sumeru as well. Hopefully not sounding like a broken record but we received a standard character in 3.1 which was tighnari after he came to the banner. This is leading me to believe that we will see a character in 4.0 that will come to the standard banner In 4.1 but who that is will remain a mystery. It could be Lynney considering he’s the only Fontaine character we really know but I doubt they’d add him to the standard. I’m assuming Hoyo will follow a similar pattern but then it also raises the question on if they are going to add a character in 4.6 to the standard. They added Dehya in 3.6 to standard but some are saying because she’s bad and others are saying they were planning to all along. Either way if that’s the case it could mean that whatever character they’re releasing in 4.5 could also be intentionally bad if they’re adding it to the standard character. Hopefully we don’t get another Dehya situation but that’s something we can deal with way further down the road. But especially with the fact that we have so many characters now it would make sense to add some of the Fontaine lineup out of the banner rosters. I think if they kept everyone in the lineup in the roster then they would have to juggle between too many characters for reruns. Even if it is just one or two character it can shave off a little bit of load for getting a rerun to everyone. But one more thing that I think can come with more standard banner characters is the addition of the epitomized path. While it is hard to get a specific character now it will be even harder with more characters so I think it’s very plausible to add an epitomized path. Similar to the standard banner it could be saving up two points in order to get the character you want, and I think everybody would like that. They have something similar for the standard in honkai so that could just be a test run to see how good it is and then implement it into genshin. Either way though I think the standard banner expansion is a matter of when and not if because the game is not even halfway done yet.
