Trail cameras capture 'cactus' buck
Trail cameras in southern New Mexico caught a buck with unusual antlers. New Mexico Game & Fish say this is called a "cactus" buck. The animals produce hormones to grow antlers but testosterone levels never get high enough for their antlers to harden. This results in their antlers growing in bizarre formations and staying velvet throughout the year.
