5 Hot Ponds Springs at Pohoiki | Pahoa | Big Island Hawaii
Pohoiki Hot ponds / springs is located at the end of Kopoho/Kalapana (HWY 137) road or AKA Red road. There are usually 5 different Hot ponds in there depending on the amount of rain fall and temperature is around 90-106. The jungle ponds is my favorite that happens to be the hottest. These naturally occurring hot ponds are the result of collapsed lava tubes that are filled up with rain water and heated by lava activity below. If you’re ever on the big island, make time to go. You won’t be disappointed.
