In this modern era, digital dictionaries are taking place of classic hard bind dictionaries. Both types have their own strengths and weaknesses. Explain which one would you prefer to use and why by discussing their advantages and drawbacks.
Modern-day digital dictionaries are many times convenient and better than the classic hard bind dictionaries that's why Modern-day digital dictionaries substituting the classic hard bind dictionaries. They have many advantages over them.
1. Ease of use: Digital Dictionaries are so easy to use as compared to hard-bound dictionaries. You can install the digital dictionaries on your mobile phone or laptop or tab. However, hard-bound dictionaries are quite cumbersome to carry. Looking up a word in a digital dictionary is also easier as compared to the book-dictionary. You just have to type a few letters and the word appears in the dictionary with all its meanings, sentences, idioms, and phrasal verbs.
2. Pronunciation: Digital dictionaries have the option to hear the pronunciation of words; but in a hard-bound dictionary, one is required to learn IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), which is quite difficult.
So, in conclusion, it can be said digital dictionaries are better than hard-bound classical dictionaries.
