CIMCO Probing - Inspect Machined Features – Mastercam Productivity Tools
The CIMCO Probing license lets you create probing toolpaths directly inside the Mastercam interface. Just like defining a machining toolpath, a probing toolpath can be programmed from the model or the stock definition with no extra editing or additional steps. In this video, we want to measure and verify the machined features to ensure the final geometry is within the acceptable tolerance range. The measurement routine is programmed, and the values are saved as macro variables. For the outside radius of the round faces, a more specific probing routine is preferred to get clean measurements without getting too close to the part, so the angle of approach is adjusted. Creating the inspection routine for the other holes is much faster as the last-used values are saved and applied to new values. Backplot or verify can be used to check for collisions and to review the final machine and tool motion.
