This past summer, Tyler Mitchell made history after being chosen to shoot Beyoncé for the cover of Vogue’s famed September Issue. Tyler is the first African-American photographer — and the youngest at 23 — to shoot the cover of Vogue in its 125-year history, marking it a moment to remember and a giant leap forward in an ongoing journey to improve diversity.
He recently dropped by the #canoncreatorlab at Free Space to discuss his journey as an artist and the music, films, and cities that have influenced his photography.
