00:00 - Intro
What's up you guys! In today's video, let's break down what the current state of the car market is, why it's going from BAD to WORSE and how you can prepare if you're someone who is in the market for a vehicle.

01:13 - Feed the algorithm...please
First and foremost if you guys could do me a huge favor and smash the like button for the YouTube algorithm I would appreciate it! This helps let YouTube know that you all are enjoying my content and thus it helps push my content to a new audience.

01:56 - Supply Chain Issues, Chip Issues & Shortages
One of the first things we need to discuss when we are discussing the current state of the car market is discussing WHY cars are currently priced the way they are. There is currently a slew of issues with the supply chain - there is a tire shortage, a labor shortage, a chip shortage, delays in virtually everything. This is of course causing a huge backlog.

03:41 - Delays, Delays, and More Delays
All of these issues listed above as well as throughout the video have resulted in a ton of delays. For example, Volkswagen recently announced that they are delaying their timeline for their electric vehicle lineup (a delay that could potentially cost tens of thousands of jobs). Another example is Cadillac, which has made the decision to postpone its autopilot-like feature that was supposed to be featured in the newest model of the Cadillac Escalade. These are two examples but the same can be said with many vehicle manufacturers as well as many features. The bottlenecking issues are causing problems and delays.

04:13 - Inflation
Lastly, inflation has been a massive factor. Over the last 9 months, the average price for a new car has risen by $5,000 (over 10%) and now sits at $45,000. Inflation has been increasing at a record price and the consumer price index has risen by 5.4% which is the highest single-year increase in over 13 years.

04:49 - Should You Buy a New Car Right Now?
Ultimately, right now is NOT the best time to buy a new car, there are simply not enough choices, not enough inventory, and your negotiation power gets thrown out the window.

05:55 - What About Used Cars?
Let's talk about used cars, while the new market has exploded, the used car market has also exploded as well. The supply chain issues that the used car market has been experiencing have caused an overflow issue with used cars as well.

07:50 - Conclusion
All in all right now is not the best time to buy either a NEW or USED car - the fact is that cars across the board are overpriced and that if you are able to I would encourage you to wait to purchase a car, either new or used.

10:10 - Closing
I hope you guys enjoyed this video, make sure to hit the like, subscribe, and the notification bell and I will see you guys in the next video.
