New Siem Reap airport train to Siem Reap city
Siem Reap plans a light rail line from Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport to the city, as discussed in an August 23, 2023 meeting between relevant institutions and China Metro. Two routes are considered: one on the old road and one on a new road. Authorities are urged to cooperate in collecting data, especially concerning the Angkor area and APSARA National Authority regulations. Deputy Governor Pin Prakot supports the project to accommodate increased tourist traffic. Collaboration among departments is essential to minimize impacts on archaeological sites and ensure smooth project execution.
