To determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) /Assistant Professor in Indian Universities and Colleges.

4. Chemical Sciences
5. Physical Sciences
Eligibility Criteria:
M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ B. Tech/ B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates 50% for SC/ST, Third gender and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.
B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD
program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Third gender, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply for Junior Research Fellowship.
Candidates possessing only Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply only for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor.
B.E./ B.S./ B.Tech./ B.Pharma/ MBBS final year/result awaited candidates are eligible to apply for fellowship only.
B.Sc. (Hons.) final year/Result awaited candidates are not eligible to apply.
UPPER AGE LIMIT:
For JRF: Maximum 28 years as on 01/07/2021 UPPER AGE LIMIT RELAXATION
5 years: SC/ST/Third gender/Persons with Disability (PwD)/female applicants
03 years: OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicant Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor: NO

Computer Based Online Test
Objective type (multiple choice questions).
Duration of Examination:180 minutes
Medium of the paper: Bi-lingual(English and Hindi)

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP STIPEND:
Rs. 31,000/- p.m for the first two years. In addition, Rs. 20,000/- per Fellow will be provided to the University / Institution.
On Completion of two years as JRF and if the Fellow is registered for Ph.D, the Fellowship will be upgraded to SRF (NET) and the stipend will be increased to Rs. 35,000/- p.m for the 3rd and subsequent years.
