At ARU, we believe entrepreneurship is not simply about generating new businesses but instead about having a passion for problem solving, being inspired to instigate change, identifying and acting on opportunities and creating impact. It is about empowering you to become enterprising people, building upon our core values, developing key skills such as adaptability, resilience and determination to succeed so you can help transform lives, business and society.
This year ARU has introduced a fresh programme called the #ThinkBigARU Pitching competition. In collaboration with ARU London, our aim was to discover student and graduate entrepreneurs brimming with business ideas and a desire to propel them forward.
Going through over 85 submissions proved to be a truly demanding task. However, we managed to narrow it down to the top 25 entrants who were given the chance to present their innovative concepts to a select panel consisting of business owners and professionals. These pitching sessions took place across our London, Cambridge, and Chelmsford campuses. The shortlisted entrants received additional support, finances and advice via mentoring. Three lucky applicants who most impressed the judges were also offered a free Federation of Small Businesses membership to support them in their start-up journey.
It has been an incredible adventure and we are extremely proud of our current students and graduates.
