The Primorye Ussuri taiga is a unique natural complex with a mixture of southern and northern forms of flora and fauna, the result of which is an amazing diversity and rare combination of cold- and heat-loving species. The climate of the region is moderate monsoon, which contributes to the development of a thick vegetation cover. The main part of the Primorsky Territory is occupied by mountain systems, of which the largest is the asymmetrical Sikhote-Alin ridge. There are up to 60 species of fruit and berry plants in the taiga alone.
