About the movie
A fairly serious offering from director Jim Abrahams (who developed comedy classics like Airplane! and the Naked Gun-trilogy with the Zucker brothers). Winona Ryder is disturbed teenager Dinky who thinks that local celebrity Roxy Carmichael is her natural mother. When it is announced that Carmichael will be visiting her native village Clyde, Ohio, Dinky goes berserk and wants her supposed mother to acknowledge her.
