In this video, we will take a look what macros are. In 3ds max, we use macros often as a means to encompass the code for a tool inside it. It becomes easy to save a macro and then run it and make a button out of it. This way one does not have to keep on finding scripts and evaluating them again and again. The macros seamlessly become a part of the 3ds Max UI and hence are handy always.

I have been creating tools, automating processes and developing pipelines using maxscript since 2010. Hence, I am taking this opportunity to share my knowledge with you all, no matter if you are an artist or a programmer, if you want to create your own toolset and/or speed up the existing pipeline etc. This series is for you.
I am starting with basics first so that anyone who watches these series can get started with writing basic scripts.
