In this session, we will learn to setup Apache Hadoop 1. X on our personal computer.
Hadoop runs best on Linux/Unix based environments.
In most of the real world cases, we find Hadoop deployed on a cluster of Linux/Unix based machines.
But generally, we have some kind of Windows based Operating systems on our personal computers like Windows 8 or Windows 10.
Hence, we will have to resort to server virtualization to setup Linux/Unix based environment on top of our Windows based Operating system.
We will first outline our steps on a high level, and then we will run those steps to setup Hadoop.
