How to start 3D printing with the Creality Ender 3 for beginners

I chose the Ender 3 primarily because of it's reasonable cost. I paid $180 which included shipping. Shop around, different sites offered different prices. Here's an Amazon link I found online https://amzn.to/2u70f5g

I chose the Cura slicer first but had problems downloading it to my computer and didn't get much tech support. So i then downloaded the Raised 3D Ideamaker slicer and it has been working fine so far.

For my first filament, I chose a PLA from Hatchbox which I picked up on Amazon. I've been pretty pleased with it so far. Here's an Amazon link to order the Hatchbox filament https://amzn.to/2tkt2Dp

After my first test print, I picked up a stringing test print at Thingaverse, here's the link to that https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:208...

Here are the settings I used to dial in my printer, using 1.75mm Hatchbox PLA filament.
Extruder Temp: 185c
Bed Temp: 45c
Retraction speed: 100 mm/s
Retraction material amount 12 mm/s
First layer flow rate 95%
All other settings are default settings

Hope this helps a bit. Keep in mind, I'm just getting started as of the publish date on this video. These are a few tips that have helped me so far.
