The Rice Owls celebrate the City of Houston at the football game against Texas Southern University
The vibrancy and spirit of friendship and partnership that define Houston were on full display as the Rice Owls hosted the Texas Southern Tigers for the treasured Celebrate Houston Day game Sept. 16. Owls quarterback JT Daniels tied his career high with four touchdown passes, all in the first half, and Rice never gave Texas Southern an opportunity to respond as the Owls sprinted to a 59-7 win and complete a first-ever sweep of games against the University of Houston and TSU.
